Caputo’s Market is a grocery store chain based in Utah, United States. Founded in 1952 by Frank Caputo, the company has grown to become one of the largest independent grocery store chains in the state. In addition to its wide selection of craft chocolate, Caputo’s Market also sells gourmet food, including truffles and premium cheese.
I came across the store’s website when my go-to craft chocolate marketplace, Bar and Cacao, ran out of one of my favorite chocolate bars. At first look, I was impressed by the beautifully-designed and clean website interface and was excited to see that the prices for many of their chocolate bars were a dollar or two cheaper than those at Bar and Cacao.
Ordering Process
The ordering process at Caputo’s Market was straightforward, and I was able to purchase a range of chocolate products, including the Original Beans Milk Chocolate bar, French Broad Milk Chocolate Chips, Caputo’s and Christ Blue truffles, and a couple of mini milk chocolate bars.
Critique
While I was generally satisfied with my experience at Caputo’s Market, I did encounter some difficulties when trying to filter the products on the website. For example, I wanted to filter by milk chocolate and mini chocolate bars and was unable to do so. This made it harder for me to find exactly what I was looking for.
Shipping
The shipping process at Caputo’s Market was efficient. They offer free shipping during cold weather and a $5 charge during the warmer months for chocolate. There was no minimum purchase required to qualify for free shipping. My order arrived within a week. It was packed securely with honeycomb cushioning paper. I like honeycomb paper because it is eco-friendly, reusable, recyclable, and biodegradable.
Conclusion
One thing I noticed about Caputo’s Market is that they don’t appear to offer sales or discounts. Even on Black Friday, they did not have any sales. They also do not have a reward program for loyal customers. However, I do appreciate that I can purchase chocolate from them without worrying about a quota for free shipping. Overall, I do not regret my purchase from Caputo’s Market and would consider buying from them again in the future.
